Our story

Restoring the Ed Young orchard.

Spear S is collaborating with others to restore the historic Ed Young orchard, now part of the Slingerland farm and ranch, which is owned by The Nature Conservancy.

“The apple trees are doing fine. We are taking our first apples of the season to the farmers’ market tomorrow,” Nan Slingerland said in late August 2024. “We really work hard to care for the orchard and the ranch.”
